Although many countries around the world began as agrarian societies, the Industrial Revolution and advancements in engineering and technology have altered the look of many economies. However, global survival needs depend heavily on commercial farming ventures. While farming has been around for centuries, the large scale of production and the achievements in plant sciences and agricultural engineering have supplied with the world with incredibly hardy but modified crops.

Much of the complains with traditional farming practices of days gone by included the inefficiency of small engine machines, the lack of laborers willing to engage in back-breaking work, the use of pesticides, and the risks associated with weather elements. Engineering new machines, equipment, and software to process, manage, and produce products is another way to increase efficiency. When the strengths of technology and engineering are combined with the scientific passion for health and wellness, the face of agriculture can be revolutionized to more efficiently address a global need.
